"Set in the charming little village of Nunnington, there's a touch of the Gingerbread House about these two little fairytale cottages, what with their stone and oak floors; wooden mantles, beams and tresses; brass beds and homely furnishings. Embellished throughout with splashes of red – be that the Aga or the apple-print oilcloth in Strawberry's kitchen - all that's missing is a red, hooded cape. Fortunately, the only surprises here are thoughtful ones, with wine, home-baked goodies and classical music (No, not Prokofief's "Peter and The Wolf".) all part of Nunnington's personal welcome. Outside, the large, shared garden dishes up views across the Vale of Ryedale and the Moors, along with homegrown fruit and vegetables that are yours to pick. The National Trust's Nunnington Hall are on your doorstep, while slightly further afield are the picturesque market towns of Helmsley and Pickering – the latter being the first stop on the wonderful North York Moors (steam) Railway.
